Integrating Slybroadcast to Drop Ringless Voicemail

Integrating Slybroadcast with Big Purple Dot can significantly enhance your marketing campaigns by enabling automated ringless voicemail messages to your leads when a tag is applied. This guide covers two methods: using Zapier to connect Slybroadcast and Big Purple Dot or integrating Slybroadcast directly within Big Purple Dot.

 

Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure you have:

  1. A Slybroadcast account.
  2. A Zapier account with access to the Slybroadcast app and Webhooks by Zapier (if using the Zapier method).
  3. A Big Purple Dot account.

 

Method 1: Integrating Slybroadcast with Big Purple Dot Using Zapier

Zapier acts as a bridge to connect Slybroadcast with Big Purple Dot, allowing you to create automated workflows that send ringless voicemails based on specific tag triggers in Big Purple Dot.

 

Step 1: Create a New Zap in Zapier

  1. Log in to your Zapier account.
  2. Click on "Create Zap" to start a new automation.

 

Step 2: Set Up the Trigger with a Catch Hook URL in Zapier

  1. For the Trigger app, select Webhooks by Zapier.
  2. Choose Catch Hook as the trigger event.
  3. Zapier will generate a unique Webhook URL. Copy this URL—you’ll need it in the next steps.

 

Step 3: Request Big Purple Dot Support to Trigger Webhook on Tag Add

To initiate the Zap based on specific actions in Big Purple Dot, request Big Purple Dot support to set up a webhook event that triggers whenever a specific tag is added to a lead.

  1. Contact Big Purple Dot support via email support@bigpurpledot.com. 
  2. Provide them with the Webhook URL from Zapier (the Catch Hook URL you copied in Step 2).
  3. Request them to configure the webhook so that it triggers an event whenever a specific tag is added to a contact in Big Purple Dot. Specify the tag you want to use (e.g., “Voicemail Needed”).

Once Big Purple Dot support confirms this setup, your Zap will trigger whenever the designated tag is added to a lead.

 

Step 4: Configure the Action Using the Slybroadcast App in Zapier

  1. Add an Action step in your Zap.
  2. Select Slybroadcast as the app.
  3. Choose Send Ringless Voicemail as the action event.
  4. Connect your Slybroadcast account.
  5. In Customize Send Ringless Voicemail, set up the following:
    • Phone Number: Map this to the phone number from Big Purple Dot’s webhook data.
    • Caller ID: Specify the number that will appear as the caller ID.
    • Audio File: Add the URL for the voicemail audio file.
  6. Click Test & Continue to ensure the voicemail sends successfully.

 

Step 5: Activate Your Zap

  1. After testing, click Turn on Zap to activate it.

With this setup, Slybroadcast will automatically send ringless voicemails whenever a specific tag is added to a contact in Big Purple Dot.

 

Method 2: Integrate Slybroadcast Directly with Big Purple Dot (without Zapier)

 

Step 1: Set Up Your Slybroadcast Account and Record Voicemails

  1. Create a Slybroadcast Account: Go to www.slybroadcast.com and sign up for an account.
  2. Record Your Voicemails: Log in to your Slybroadcast account and record all the voicemails you intend to send. Make sure to name each recording clearly, as you’ll link each to a status tag in Big Purple Dot later.
    • Tip: Use clear, action-oriented names for each voicemail to easily identify them during setup (e.g., “Initial Follow Up,” “Reminder 1”).

Note: Complete all voicemail recordings before moving on to the next steps to ensure a smooth integration process.

 

Step 2: Create Status Tags in Big Purple Dot

To automate voicemail drops, you’ll need a unique status tag in Big Purple Dot for each voicemail recording. These tags will act as triggers for sending specific voicemails to contacts.

  1. Log in to Big Purple Dot.
  2. Create a Status Tag for each voicemail recording.

Make sure each status tag name is easy to associate with the corresponding voicemail. For example, if you have a Slybroadcast recording named “Follow Up #1,” create a status tag in Big Purple Dot with a similar name for easy reference.

 

Step 3: Provide Integration Details to Big Purple Dot Support

To finalize the setup, you’ll need to send specific details to Big Purple Dot support. This will allow them to link your Slybroadcast account with the status tags you’ve created, enabling automated voicemail drops.

 

Send the Following Information to support@bigpurpledot.com:

  1. Slybroadcast User ID: The username you use to log in to Slybroadcast.
  2. Slybroadcast Password: The password for your Slybroadcast account.
  3. Preferred Caller ID Number: This is the phone number that will appear as the caller ID when the voicemail is dropped. (Typically, this is your Big Purple Dot tracking number for consistency.)
  4. Voicemail Recording Names and Status Tags:
    • For each voicemail, provide:
      • The file name of the voicemail recording in Slybroadcast.
      • The status tag you want to trigger that voicemail in Big Purple Dot.
    Example:
    • Slybroadcast recording named "12345" should be set to trigger when the Big Purple Dot status tag "Follow Up #1" is applied to a contact.

Big Purple Dot support will then configure the integration, connecting each status tag with the specified Slybroadcast voicemail recording.
